Step 2: Run eePDF PDF to Word OCR Converter

Step 3: Add PDF files

To add PDF files you should click the Add PDF File(s) button; > Select the PDF files you want to convert in the PDF2Word dialog box; > Click Open to input PDF files to eePDF Scanned PDF to DOC OCR Converter.

Step 4: Choose an option to OCR scanned PDF files

In the Output Options group box, there are options for maintaining the original layout of the original normal PDF files as well as options for the computer to OCR scanned PDF files written in six languages. The former seven options enable you to convert normal PDF to Word in different modes; and the last six options support your computer to recognize characters in six different languages in the scanned PDF files. For instance, if the content of the scanned PDF file is in French, you should choose option 8: OCR PDF file (Language: English) on the list.

Step 5: Set RTF as the output format

Output Formats group box has two options. The first one, which has been set by default, is MS Word Document (* DOC). The second one is Rich Text Format (*.rtf). Rich Text Format is a very useful document, a file in RTF format can be used with different output devices, operating environments, and operating systems. Since files in both DOC and RTF formats can be opened in OpenOffice, you can choose either of the formats here. For example, you can choose RTF as the format in this step.

Step 6: Convert PDF to RTF

Click on Convert and select a folder in the Browse for Folder dialog box, Then, click OK to close the Browse for Folder dialog box and begin to convert from PDF to RTF.

Step 7: Convert RTF to OpenOffice

Open the RTF files in OpenOffice and save them in STW or SXW format. Then, you can view the effect of conversion from PDF to OpenOffice. The following comparison illustrates the content of a scanned PDF file and the content of the output OpenOffice file. The text is successfully converted from the scanned PDF file to editable OpenOffice document.
